AKARI is a filmmaker (writer/director, sometimes producer) and photographer. Her background in photography informs the visual language she like to explore in her writing and directing. Mundanity and grit draw are her tonal muses.
She loves to learn through creative photo shoots, but also takes traditional headshots--mainly on 35mm.
She studied at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA where she double majored in Art with a focus in Photo/Media and Cinema & Media Studies with a minor in Art History.
